The opening ceremony for the Clarion Hotel Post was held in the centre of Gothenburg on 26th January. Mediatec supplied high-end projectors required to successfully project over 1000 sqm onto the facade of the building. In addition to this, they also supplied moving lights, projection, LED screens and a three camera production for the staged opening ceremony viewed by the 2000 special guests and thousands of visitors to the area.
As an Event technician you will drive the Mobile LED Screen to events in the whole of Europe. You will represent the company and be responsible for the equipment and the performance on site. In many cases you will be expected to do a smaller production.
You are self-going and are not afraid of heights.
You are interested in technique and have knowledge of mechanics and heavy vehicles. If you have knowledge of electricity and are interested in pixels and screens it is even better. You need to be flexible as you will be traveling and working odd and long hours, often on weekends.
Knowledge of English both spoken and written is a must. If you have your own business and are willing to work as a freelancer and have a CE-driving license, you might be the one we are looking for.

Liseberg is the largest amusement park in Scandinavia with approximately 3 million visitors annually. Mediatec has worked with Christmas at Liseberg since 2001, which is the biggest Christmas market in Scandinavia, with around 500 000 visitors yearly.
The park is decorated with thousands of lamps, which can be seen in trees, in the lakes, and outside the buildings and attractions. Mediatec is delivering technology, light design and technical project management to several areas within the park.
The technology used is 180 conventional armatures, about 130 rgb armatures, as well as special armatures and intelligent lighting.
On Sunday 6th November Mediatec ensured that an estimated 500 million viewers could catch the excitement of the Miss World 2011 crowning at Earls Court in London. Their large production unit, Mediatec HD2, was utilized by a professional production crew of around 20 people. It was on-site for a full week of rehearsals before the actual show on Sunday. Cranes, Steadicam, links and robotic cameras were all used in the production, which was transmitted live to 150 countries around the globe.
David Morgan, head of TV production for Miss World says: “For a live transmission like this we were anxious to get a technical provider that could guarantee top quality equipment and crew and still stay within budget. We made some changes in the setup during the rehearsal period but Mediatec delivered on the mark every time. That’s what counts.”
According to Allan Parsons, Mediatec project manager, HD2 could easily accommodate all the different wishes from Production.

The Volvo Ocean Race is an exceptional test of sailing prowess and human endeavour which has been built on the spirit of great seafarers – fearless men who sailed the worlds’ oceans aboard square rigged clipper ships more than a centuary ago.

From the point that the ruling party announced the general election in Denmark, it was only 3 weeks until the election was held.
That put the pressure on the opposition as well as the local broadcasters. This time, Mediatec also felt the pressure as the Danish public broadcaster, Danmarks Radio, largely relied on Mediatec to cover a major part of the outdoor events during the all evening election special on election night, Thursday 15th September.
In less than 2.5 weeks Mediatec planned, organized, equipped and crewed 5 large OB-units with more than 60 cameras, 10 EVS’s, large lenses, radio links and hundreds of other details. Among the details where the planning of parking two of Mediatec’s largest OB-units in the yard of Christiansborg, where the parliament resides, to cover party festivities and hold announcer positions.
This immense task was possible to perform in such a short time thanks to Mediatec’s skilled and dedicated project managers, engineers and operators. With a large fleet of high performance OB-units under Mediatec’s control, the planning was made a little easier but it was still quite a jigsaw puzzle, with lots of pieces that needed to find their right place.
Technical coordinator for the election, Linus Malmborg, says -“We used equipment from all over the Mediatec group and doing this during the same time as the IBC exhibition took place didn’t make it easier”.
Summing it up, it was a very successful operation with an equally very happy client. And the opposition won by just a few percent.
