On December 21, Massteknik part of Mediatec Group, supplied display technology for the Coca-Cola Christmas Show in Berlin. This was Massteknik's second time as a supplier to the show. With a picture from the premiere of Gothenburg Christmas City, Mediatec Group wishes to say Merry Christmas. This year’s film, Sea of Christmas, is projected onto the Art Museum’s façade. It is produced by Eyebrite Film and Visions AB. For the third consecutive year, Massteknik supplies play out equipment and image technology, while Primetec provides light technology and sound.
It’s no longer necessary to be in Stockholm to experience ballet at the Royal Opera. On December 16, Prisma, part of Mediatec Group, broadcast Chaikovky’s Nutcracker live in HD. As stated in a press release from the Royal Opera, this was the first time ballet was broadcast live to digital cinemas. In no less than 25 cinemas all over Sweden, and one in Norway, visitors were able to experience the two hour show, set in a classic Elsa Beskow style.
Although a premiere for ballet, this was not the first time Prisma performed live broadcasting from the Royal Opera. In February, 2008 visitors at a number of cinemas in Sweden could watch the opera Falstaff live. In November, Prisma carried out a similar HD broadcast of Bernardas house from Dramaten in Stockholm to 37 cinemas.
The Mediatec Christmas Show is now moving from Bromma to Kungälv, where we will display the very best of our products and services. For those who attended the show, and for those who didn't, there is unique material from the construction of the show to watch here. Take the opportunity to learn how we work behind the scenes.
Consolidation continues when Mediatec Group acquires Twentyfourseven Mobile Links and strengthens equipment and personnel capacity.
Prisma Outside Broadcast, part of Mediatec Group, has acquired Twentyfourseven Mobile Links. The agreement was signed on December 2, 2008, and means an addition of both technology and competence. Prisma Outside Broadcast is one of Scandinavia’s largest corporations in the OB market. The acquisition leads to a completion of Prisma’s existing portfolio of services and products. Managing Director, Paul Henriksen, comments:
– This is a perfect supplement of our existing link business, and it will make it even easier for us to offer our clients total solutions. We have noticed an increasing demand for cost effective production and contribution services.
The business of Mobile Links, including eight employees, twelve link buses and link equipment, becomes part of Prisma Outside Broadcast. Kent Lundgren, Managing Director of Twentyfourseven Holding, is content:
– We are focusing on our core business, which will be advantageous to our rent clients. It feels good to convey the business to one of the industry’s leading corporations in Scandinavia.
The two corporations also have plans for a closer collaboration in the renting sector.

After the Nobel Prize Award Ceremonies, a banquet is traditionally held in the Blue Hall of Stockholm City Hall. The Nobel Banquet welcomes 1,300 guests to dine in a glamourous setting.
Massteknik, part of Mediatec Group, is the supplier of display technology to the event, which takes place on December 10, 2008. The creation of visual effects onto the ceiling of the Blue Hall is included in the delivery.
Mediatec Group is also represented by Primetec, providing lighting technology and technicians.
In addition, Prisma, part of Mediatec Group, handles all TV technology for Swedish and international broadcasting of the event. This marks the first time the Nobel Banquet is broadcast in HD 1080i in Swedish television.
Mediatec Group, represented by Prisma and Massteknik, do it again, following spring’s Biathlon World Championships also held in Östersund. As before, Prisma manages the televison production, while Massteknik provides video trailers, image producer and trailer technicians.
Malmö Arena opened to the public on November 6, 2008. It has a capacity of up to 15,000 people and is intended to host sports as well as entertainment events. Mediatec Group was the contractor of all display, sound and broadcast technology in the arena.
Three Mediatec Group corporations were involved. Massteknik delivered, among other things, a 76 m² media cube with SMD technology, measuring 19 m² per side.. In addition, banners and a complete audio system were included in the delivery.
Prisma provided a complete TV studio, and will handle all TV production and manning of all equipment.
Primetec supplied the arena’s sound technology.
Massteknik’s 54 m² trailer screen was on site to support Charlotte Kalla and the rest of the Swedish national team at the World Cup of cross-country skiing season premiere at Dundret, Gällivare.
NHL, the best hockey league in the world, arranged two kick-off games in the regular season schedule to be played in Globen Arena in Stockholm, Sweden. The games were played between Pittsburgh Penguins and Ottawa Senators in early October, 2008. In addition, Ottawa Senators played a friendly against Swedish hockey team Frölunda Indians in Scandinavium, Gothenburg.
Mediatec Dream Team was proud to be chosen for the host-broadcasting assignment. We are well prepared to handle productions like this one, and we do it on a more or less daily basis. In this case we supplied a production and technology solution for the client. We also provided Canal+ with two studio positions in the arena. Finally, we supplied display technology for the audience in Globen Arena.
We were of course excited to be involved in such a unique event. We were also pleased by the great reviews we got from the client, NHL Broadcast. In a report, it was stated that all technology and all crew were considered apt for any assignment in North America. Both parties agreed upon further collaborations.
When the Eurovision Song Contest finally came to Helsinki in 2007, the contest already had over fifty years of traditions. For the first time, ESC was produced and broadcast in High Definition.
For Massteknik, part of Mediatec Group, this was the sixth ESC assignment. The event took place at the classic Hartwall Arena. All tickets were of course sold out, but the contest was broadcast to over a hundred million viewers. That’s a situation where absolutely nothing must go wrong.
And it didn’t, which wasn’t exactly a coincidence. Massteknik had 19 staff members located in Helsinki for a month, rigging all our equipment. Preparations were meticulous, to say the least.
A total of 340 m² of LED screens were used. 125 m² of Barco Olite were installed in the stage floor, and 200 m² of Barco MiTrix in the back-drop. This was a world first; never before had that many MiTrix modules been interconnected. It didn’t stop here, but this certainly paints the picture.
Mediatec Group was also represented by Prisma.
For the past ten years, Primetec, part of Mediatec Group, has been supplying complete event and personnel solutions for Volvo Cars’ press conferences.
On August 26, 2008, Volvo XC60 was promoted in Moscow. Primetec managed the event with a team of no more than ten people. This in itself is unique. Other suppliers usually need up to 25 people to handle similar events. The secret is skills and meticulous planning. Team members don’t have just one task to fulfill, but several ones each.
Every team member is well aware of the different aspects of the event. Thus everyone can contribute, with ideas as well as with creative problem solving. There’s always a back-up plan for unforeseen occurences.
The Moscow assignment included images, lighting, sound, motors and all rig equipment.
